Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder doubled and singled in three at-bats on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Fielder also walked twice and scored a run for the Brew Crew. Fielder’s average is now up to .278 and he remains a must-start in all leagues and could be due for a huge second half for the contending Brewers. (CBS Sports)

Prince Fielder hit his 20th homer of the season Saturday for Milwaukee. It marked the 15th consecutive game in which the Brewers have homered, tying the third-longest streak in franchise history. The club record is 19, set in 1996. Fielder is a must-start in all leagues. He could be due for a huge second half for the contending Brewers. (CBS Sports)

Prince Fielder went 2-for-5 with a homer and two RBI Saturday as the Brewers beat the Giants 8-5. Ben Sheets actually got things going in the top of the second with an RBI double, but the Giants rallied to a 4-1 lead in the fourth. The Brewers would answer with four runs in the sixth and two in the seventh. Fielder put the icing on the cake with a run-scoring single in the ninth. Fielder is hitting .275 with 20 home runs this season. (Rotoworld)

Prince Fielder went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer as the Brewers lost to the Reds on Saturday. Fielder provided the only damage for the Brewers as they fell to the Reds, hitting just his second homer since June 23. He had seen his average drop almost 30 points since that time, so maybe America’s biggest vegetarian simply needs a nice rest. (Rotoworld)

Prince Fielder went 1-for-3 and clobbered his 17th homer of the season Monday. Fielder’s homer came off RP Taylor Buchholz as Colorado scored three times in the eighth. Fielder is 6-for-17 (.353) with one homer and four RBI during a four-game hitting streak. Fielder’s numbers are down across the board this year, and the homer was his first in two weeks. Fielder homered Monday for the first time since June 22, when he went deep twice against the Orioles. The slugging first baseman has nine homers since June 1 and is starting to look like his former self after a slow start to the season. (Rotowire, CBS Sports)

Prince Fielder singled in Rickie Weeks with one out in the bottom of the ninth and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 on Saturday night for their second straight win. Fielder went 2-for-4 on the night, and the RBI was his 45th. Fielder now has back-to-back two-hit nights with an RBI in each. Despite his recent struggles, Fielder remains a must-start 1B in all formats simply because of his power potential. Like most sluggers, he is prone to streaky play now and again. (CBS Sports)

The Sports Xchange reports that Brewers 1B Prince Fielder, in a 2-for-27 slump on the Brewers’ three-city trip, was given his first game off Tuesday since May 8 in Florida. Despite his recent struggles, Fielder remains a must-start 1B in all formats simply because of his power potential. Like most sluggers, he is prone to streaky play now and again. (CBS Sports)

Prince Fielder’s first-inning single off Arizona LHP Doug Davis gave him his first RBI in seven games on the Brewers’ current trip. Fielder entered the game in a 1-for-24 skid. Fielder isn’t out of his funk just yet, but this is a good sign that he’s ready to turn things around. He’s been a streaky hitter in the past and could match his recent slide with a huge surge. Fantasy owners should make sure he’s active in all leagues for that. (CBS Sports)

Milwaukee 1B Prince Fielder snapped an 0-for-18 streak with a fifth inning single Saturday against the Twins. Fielder had been hitting with more consistency of late, but hadn’t had a base hit since June 22 against Baltimore prior to Saturday. He was 0-for-17 in his last four games, but Fantasy owners still have to keep him active in most formats. His power potential alone allows him to make up for his struggles in one game. (CBS Sports)

The Sports Xchange reports that Milwaukee 1B Prince Fielder, who batted .382 with five home runs and eight RBIs on the Brewers’ last homestand, was 0-for-12 in the three-game series in Atlanta that started a nine-game road trip. Maybe the veggies weren’t that tasty in Atlanta, but no matter how poorly he does in one series, the big man remains a must-start option in all formats. (CBS Sports)

Prince Fielder homered twice and doubled while driving in three runs in the Brewers’ 7-3 win over the Orioles. Fielder hit a solo shot off reliever Ryan Bukvich in the sixth, then added a two-run blast off Jamie Walker in the seventh. The red-hot Fielder has put his April and May struggles behind him by smacking five homers over his last six games, giving him eight total in the month of June. “They all feel good to me,” Fielder said of his homers. The big first baseman, who led the NL with 50 homers last year, has 16 this year after connecting in the sixth and seventh innings. He also doubled and scored on Hart’s 12th homer in the second. Fielder is batting .341 (47-for-138) with 11 homers in his last 36 games, raising his average from .241 on May 12 to .292. After his latest big game, he said he is feeling better at the plate than he has at any time this season. “Hopefully, I can keep it up,” he said. “When you feel comfortable, good things happen.” (Rotoworld, CBS Sports)

Prince Fielder had the second inside-the-park homer of his career as the Brewers beat the Blue Jays 8-7 on Thursday. Fielder added some dramatics in the fifth with his inside-the-park homer. He hit a roller that got stopped by the padding underneath the wall in right field. The ball could clearly be seen, but Alex Rios put his hands up as if he couldn’t find it. “I thought the umpire was going to make a call and he never made a call so I grabbed it and threw it. He took forever,” Rios said. Fielder slowed as he rounded second but then took off again, chugging home well before Rios finally grabbed the ball and threw it back to the infield much too late. It was Fielder’s first inside-the-park homer since a ball hit off a speaker in the Metrodome on June 17, 2007. Fielder finished the game 2-for-3 with one walk and three runs. He has hit safely in seven of eight games (11-for-31). He has three homers in that span. Fielder has been red hot at the plate since mid-May and has made Fantasy owners forget about his slow start. Continue to keep him active in all Fantasy formats. (CBS Sports)

Brewers slugger Prince Fielder owes more than $400,000 in unpaid taxes, according to a published report. Fielder declined comment on the report through a team spokesman before Wednesday night’s game against Toronto. An IRS spokesman told The Associated Press that Fielder could have made payments or even paid it off, but that it might not be recorded yet. The Detroit News’ Tax Watchdog blog published Tuesday a copy of the IRS’ Notice of Federal Tax Lien filed against Fielder on Oct. 6, 2005. It was addressed to a residence in his name in Melbourne, Fla., and noted he owed a total of $409,149.14 assessed on Sept. 13, 2004, and Feb. 7, 2005. As Brewers manager Ned Yost put it: “That’s nobody’s business but his. That has nothing to do with baseball.” This won’t have anything to do with Fielder’s Fantasy stats. Fielder has been hot, making up for his slow start. Consider him a must-have and must-start in all Fantasy leagues right now. (CBS Sports)

Prince Fielder thought he had ended the Brewers’ extra-inning game Saturday against the Twins in the 10th inning with a drive off the center-field wall that highlighted the discussion for instant replay. Fielder’s shot appeared to hit the yellow line, but not go over the wall after Carlos Gomez attempted a leaping catch. According to the ground rules at Miller Park, a ball that goes over the yellow line on the top of the outfield fence in flight is a homer, if it strikes the line and bounces back it is not. Fielder pumped his fists before hurrying for a triple. After a short discussion by the umpire crew, the call stood. Minnesota went on to win 9-4 in the 12th. Fielder’s power numbers are down, but he has been hot in June and is starting to make up for his slow start. Keep him active in all leagues and expect a cluster of homers to come — perhaps very soon.
