Dickerson "Dazzles With Blend of Power, Speed"
Chris Dickerson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run as the Reds lost to Pittsburgh on Wednesday. Dickerson is pretty hot right now as he’s got hits in seven of his last eight games with three homers and six RBI. Not to mention a couple stolen bases and several walks. Oh, and 10 runs scored, too. Dickerson is hitting a solid .320 atop the Reds lineup and is making some noise in deeper mixed Rotisserie leagues right now. In 75 at-bats, Dickerson now has six homers, including two games in a row, despite managing just 11 dingers in 349 minor league at-bats this season. He also hit just .287 at Triple-A this year, so the average will likely start to regress. Dickerson has provided a big spark to the Reds since his call-up, dazzling with a blend of power and speed while hitting for good average. Fantasy owners suffering in the outfield could do worse than the hot-hitting young Red. (Rotoworld, Rotowire, CBS Sports)

Sandoval Launches Another Homer
Pablo Sandoval went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday. Sandoval is continuing to hit the ball at an alarming rate — he is 24-for-68 in 18 games. He mashed at Single- and Double-A and should be considered an option for the stretch run. (Rotowire)

Milledge Solid Against Phillies
Nationals OF Lastings Milledge had a pair of singles and one RBI in five at-bats Wednesday against the Phillies. He is 8-for-24 (.333) with five RBI in his last six games. Milledge has been great at the plate for Washington since Aug. 1 and is finally showing the kind of potential that made him a first-round draft pick. Consider him someone to trust in all deeper leagues now, especially Rotisserie formats. (CBS Sports)

Teixeira DH’s After Minor Hand Injury
Mark Teixeira started at DH Wednesday and showed no ill effects from being hit on the hand the day before, as he went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI. The hand is just a little sore, and manager Mike Scoscia said Teixeira should be able to go at first on Thursday.Teixeira has been an excellent source of power and average since coming over to the Angels. In his 32 games with the Angels, he’s raised his season average from .283 to .305. He’s in line for a big payday this offseason. (Rotowire)

Reyes Ties Mookies Mets Steals Record
Mets SS Jose Reyes had his 10-game hitting streak snapped on Tuesday against the Brewers so on Wednesday he started a new one. Reyes went 1-for-4 with a triple in the Mets win over the Brew Crew and he also stole his 47th base of the season, tying the Mets’ franchise mark of 281 set by Mookie Wilson. (CBS Sports)

Blake on Hot Streak Now - Batting Cleanup
Casey Blake, hitting cleanup for the first time since being acquired from Cleveland on July 26, homered for the Dodgers during Wednesday’s 6-4 win against the Padres. Blake hit a solo homer off Mike Adams in the bottom of the seventh to complete the scoring. He finished 2-for-4 with two RBI. Blake has three homers in his last four games and is starting to get hot again at the plate. He is notoriously a streaky player, but this is one of those times to start Blake in most Fantasy leagues. DeWitt Homers For Second Straight at Second
Blake DeWitt hit a two-run homer as the Dodgers topped the Padres on Wednesday night. DeWitt’s homer was his only hit in four at-bats, but he’s now 6-for-19 with a homer and five RBI since being recalled last week. With Jeff Kent out, he’s been starting at second base, and eligibility at that position would make him a decent NL-only grab. DeWitt has hit safely in five of six games, and he also has five RBI in that span. DeWitt is seeing a lot of starts at second base, but still remains a low-end Fantasy option.Angel Berroa and Casey Blake also homered for Los Angeles, giving the Dodgers their fifth consecutive victory since ending an eight-game losing streak. Jones Likely to Return Friday
Chipper Jones (knee) could return to the lineup by Friday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. “I don’t see any reason why I couldn’t be back in there tomorrow or the next day, hopefully tomorrow,” Jones said. “I feel like I’ve got a little fluid today in my knee.” Jones has missed the last two games due to the knee injury, but this doesn’t sound too serious. Still, the Braves have little reason to rush him back with little to play for in September. (Rotowire)

Headley Putting Together Nice Series, Practices at 3B
Padres 3B Chase Headley had three singles and scored once in four at-bats Wednesday against the Dodgers. He is 6-for-12 (.500) with one RBI in his last three games. Headley has done a nice job making contact with the ball since debuting in mid-June, but his lack of homers and RBI is what is holding him back in Fantasy. Also of note, Headley fielded ground balls at third base during batting practice Wednesday, the North County Times reports. Third is Headley’s natural spot, and he played six games at the position earlier this year. Manager Bud Black said Headley could see some starts at third before the season is over, which would help give him position flexibility in more leagues. (Rotowire, CBS Sports)

Blanton Mediocre, Takes Loss Against Nats
Joe Blanton lasted four innings Wednesday against the Nationals, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks. Blanton was pulled from Wednesday’s start against the Nationals after loading the bases with no outs in the fifth. The Nationals scored twice to take a 4-3 lead and Blanton left as the losing pitcher. He walked away with a no decision after Philadelphia went up 5-4 in the sixth. Blanton allowed four runs and six hits while walking three and struck out two. Blanton has been decent, if underwhelming, since coming to the Phillies, and has lately been unable to pitch deep into games. He’s only reached six innings pitched once in his last five starts. The wins haven’t been there as expected since he is pitching for a contender. (Rotowire, CBS Sports)

Gerut Misses Fifth Game with Injury
Jody Gerut (finger) sat out again Wednesday, the North County Times reports. Manager Bud Black mentioned the possibility that Gerut will miss San Diego’s entire four-game series in Milwaukee. “Obviously, (the injury is) more significant than the medical staff and Jody first thought,” Black said. Gerut hasn’t played since August 27. (Rotowire)
