Marquis Solid, but Cubs Can’t Score
Cubs SP Jason Marquis fell to 6-7 on the year Friday in a 3-0 loss to the Pirates. Marquis gave up eight hits and three runs in six innings. He walked one and had two strikeouts. His ERA now stands at 4.68. Marquis fell to 0-4 in six starts since beating the crosstown White Sox on June 21. He was 2-0 against the Pirates but couldn’t get the job done again on Friday. He remains best left for NL-only Fantasy leagues and larger mixed leagues when he is a two-start pitcher. That won’t happen next week as his next scheduled start comes Wednesday against Houston.
