Wilson Pitches Sloppy Ninth, Gets NL-Leading 20th Save
Brian Wilson recorded his 20th save of the season Tuesday when he allowed one run in the ninth inning of the Giants’ 3-2 win over the Indians. Entering with a 3-1 lead, Wilson gave up two hits and walked one, but he was able to record two crucial strikeouts to end the game. He now has a 4.55 ERA and a 35:15 K:BB ratio over 29.2 innings this year. Wilson is an interesting case. He is leading the national league in saves with 20, though he plays for a poor team in the Giants. Plus, he’s not exactly lights out, is he? That’s two games in a row where he’s been shaky and has allowed runs to cross. (Rotowire, CBS Sports)
