Chipper Jones To Be Sidelined This Weekend
Chipper Jones said he expects to be sidelined through the weekend after aggravating his strained right quad in the eighth inningin Friday’s game. Kelly Johnson, who was supposed to have the night off, replaced him, causing Ruben Gotay to slide from second base to third. “It’s happened so many times I can’t recall,” Jones said. “This is definitely the worst, though.” Omar Infante will start at either third or short on Saturday, depending on whether Yunel Escobar plays. Maine Gets Win over Rockies
John Maine pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed two runs Friday in a victory over the Rockies. The win was Maine’s second in seven starts. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in nine of his 15 starts, but he’s not pitching as deep into games as he did when he was going well last year. Unless the Mets’ bullpen gets better, Maine may not repeat as a 15-game winner. (Rotoworld)

Campillo Roughed Up by Seattle
The Mariners knocked in four runs over 6 1/3 innings on Braves’ starter Jorge Campillo Friday night. Campillo let up eight hits and walked three. It was rough to see after last week’s seven strikeout, complete-game performance. His ERA is sitting pretty at 2.54 ERA but this start might scare away owners. Don’t let it. He’s looked strong enough, at times, to own in NL-only leagues. (Rotoworld)

Phillips Slumping in June
Reds 2B Brandon Phillips went 0-for-4 Friday at the Yankees. He’s batting .194 (14-for-72) in June, though he did enter Friday’s game with two consecutive two-hit games. Phillips has his batting average down below .265 now, but he’s no stranger to cold streaks. Since he’s one of the few second basemen with 30-30 potential, you have to keep him active in Fantasy through thick and thin. (CBS Sports)

Wellemeyer to Throw Side Session Saturday
Todd Wellemeyer (elbow) will throw a side bullpen session Saturday. It’ll be the first time Wellemeyer has pitched since he was shut down on June 13 because of elbow issues. The Cardinals are hoping he’ll be able to make a start next week in Detroit, but that weighs on how well this session goes. If anything is off, the team will likely throw him on the DL retroactive to June 14. (Rotoworld)

Andruw Jones Looking Good in Rehab
According to the Los Angles Times, Andruw Jones “looked very comfortable” while taking batting practice before Friday’s game. Jones could return to the Dodgers’ lineup by the end of June. The pain in his back is apparently totally healed. (Rotoworld)
