Say Goodbye To: Matt Herges, Reynel Pinto
Rockies RP Matt Herges, a staple out of the bullpen in the early going, worked a disastrous third of an inning Monday at Philadelphia. He gave up four runs on six hit and one walk, raising his ERA from 2.63 to 3.90. Herges has allowed seven earned runs in his last four appearances — a span of 4 1/3 innings. He is quickly losing momentum after a hot start and is looking more like the reliever with a career 3.76 ERA. As a middle reliever, he has appeal only in the deepest of NL-only leagues. (CBS Sports)
Marlins RP Renyel Pinto, who had a 0.70 ERA on May 11, has now allowed a run in three of his last six outings and has seen his ERA double to 1.41. Despite his recent struggles, Pinto is still having a solid season as the Marlins setup man. He is of some use to Fantasy owners in deeper NL-only leagues that use true middle relievers and he’s also become a decent cheap source for holds. (CBS Sports)
