Fielder Leaves the Yard Twice - Tofu To You!
Prince Fielder finished 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI as the Brewers beat the Marlins 4-3 Saturday evening. Carlos Villanueva laid a sac bunt with the bases loaded in the second to tie the game at one. The Brewers then had a big third inning which featured a Prince Fielder RBI single and J.J. Hardy sac fly. The Marlins tied it in the top of the eighth, but Prince Fielder hit what turned out to be a game-winning home run in the bottom of the inning. Fielder has bumped his average up to .253 and now has four homers and 18 RBI. Fielder’s fourth home run of the season, a mammoth, 428-foot shot to dead center, broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the eighth. Pinto had not allowed a run in his previous 11 appearances. “He made a mistake to a pretty good hitter and he hit it out of the ballpark,” Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said. “I’d rather that happened than a guy walk the bases loaded and walk three guys in. He went after him and this time Prince won.” (Rotoworld, CBS Sports)

Chipper Sits with Back Spasms
Chipper Jones was scratched from Atlanta’s lineup Saturday after he was bothered by spasms in the middle of his back. With Yunel Escobar also out, the Braves have called up Brent Lillibridge to start at shortstop and moved Martin Prado over to third. Jones is day-to-day. Jones isn’t optimistic that he’ll play Sunday against the Mets. “I hope I’ll go home, have a great night of sleep and wake up and feel great in the morning,” Jones said. “Judging the way I feel now I would say that’s doubtful but we got an off day on Monday so I’m hoping worst-case scenario is when we get to Washington on Tuesday.” (Rotoworld)

Maine Gets “W”, Leaves Due To Arm Tightness
John Maine yielded two runs in five innings and struck out seven Saturday in a defeat of the Braves. Maine appeared to be dealing with some cramping or numbness in his hand when he was visited by the trainer in the fifth, but he stayed in to finish the inning. He was already up to 100 pitches at that point, so he probably wasn’t coming back out regardless. Maine is 2-2 with a 3.58 ERA. After the game, Maine said he had a little arm tightness before coming out of Saturday’s game. Maine got a visit from the trainer in the fifth inning of the game. “It was OK,” he said. “I could’ve gone out in the sixth and I wanted to, but it’s still April and there is no reason to take a chance. But I’m OK.” It appears that he’ll make his next start. (Rotoworld)

The Riot Still On Fire
Cubs SS Ryan Theriot went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored Saturday in a 7-0 win over the Nationals. He is now 21 for his last 49 with 10 multi-hit games in his last 12 and is now hitting .337. Theriot is never going to give you power from the shortstop position, but he hit over .300 in his final two minor league seasons and apparently can hit MLB pitching as well. His value right now really lies in NL-only and mixed rotisserie formats, but he is making plenty of noise in mixed formats right now as well. (CBS Sports)

Reyes Slumping Again - 1-for-22 Stretch
Jose Reyes is in a 1-for-22 slump after going hitless again on Thursday. Reyes is in the midst of a second straight awful month, and he hasn’t had a .350 OBP in any month since last June. If the Mets had other options, we’d suggest moving him out of the leadoff spot to give him a wakeup call. He certainly hasn’t seemed especially motivated this year. (Rotoworld)

Hart’s Hitting Streak at Six Games
Brewers RF Corey C. Hart moved his his streak along to six games Saturday when he went 2-for-4 in a win over the Marlins. Hart is hitting .281 this season, but his one homer has to be driving his owners nuts. He hit 24 last season, which gave plenty of people hope that he would have a big power breakout season in 2008. That hasn’t come to fruition just yet, but there is a long way to go. Hart should continue to produce with everyday at-bats and remains no worse than a No. 3 Fantasy OF in mixed leagues. (CBS Sports)
