James Wobbly, But Gets Win

Chuck James gave up four runs over five innings with three strikeouts and five walks, but still got a win in Thursday’s victory over Florida. James gave up a run in the top of the first, but had a fairly comfortable cushion the rest of the way thanks to a five-run first inning from the Braves offense. The Marlins drew within a couple runs on Josh Willingham’s two-run homer in the fifth, but the Atlanta bullpen took care of business for the final four innings to lead the Braves to their sixth win in their past eight games. James may only get one or two more starts in the rotation with Tom Glavine and Mike Hampton due back from the DL. (Rotowire, Rotoworld)

Update: Braves optioned LHP Chuck James to Triple-A Richmond. James started Thursday, allowing four runs in five innings. With Tom Glavine set to return Tuesday he’s no longer needed in the rotation and the Braves are expected to call up a reliever to replace him on the roster Friday. (Rotoworld)
