Lincecum Stellar – Bullpen Blows It
Giants SP Tim Lincecum, scratched from his first start due to inclement weather, took to the hill Tuesday against the Padres. This time it was San Diego trying to weather the storm Lincecum was bringing. The second-year hurler was in line for his second win before the bullpen blew the 2-1 lead in the ninth inning. Lincecum allowed a run on seven hits over six innings, with a walk and seven strikeouts. Lincecum loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth. He gave up singles to Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Kouzmanoff, and hit Jim Edmonds. Khalil Greene then hit a flyball to left field that appeared to be catchable, but went off Daniel Ortmeier’s glove. Gonzalez scored on the play, but Kouzmanoff was forced at third. Lincecum then struck out Scott Hairston and got Bard to fly out to limit the damage. Lincecum did earn the win as a reliever in his first outing April 2 against the Dodgers and allowed just a run in four innings that time out. He now has a 1.80 ERA and already looks like the Fantasy ace we envisioned that would come in Year 3. Lincecum has a world of talent and should be owned in most Fantasy leagues. His next scheduled start is for Sunday against the Cardinals. He was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA in his lone start against St. Louis last season. Lincecum didn’t get much help, so he remains winless against the Padres despite a 2.03 ERA in three career starts against the team. He threw 97 pitches tonight, 64 for strikes. Wilson Botches It Again
Giants RP Brian Wilson entered Tuesday’s game against the Padres in the ninth inning with a 2-1 lead. It didn’t take him long to erase away the save opportunity. Josh Bard opened the inning with a walk and was replaced by pinch runner Colt Morton. Tony Clark then singled to left field which brought Morton to third base. Brian Giles then hit a deep fly ball to left field which was deep enough to plate Morton and square the game at 2. Tad Iguchi followed with a infield single before Wilson retired Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Kouzmanoff. He is now 1-for-2 in save opportunities. Wilson worked back-to-back outings Monday and Tuesday. He didn’t look impressive either time. He allowed five hits and three runs in 1 2/3 innings. He needs to improve on his late-inning performances or he could be out of a closer’s job. For now, Wilson remains a No. 3 Fantasy closer since he pitches for a bad team. The Giants won’t make a change unless they absolutely have to, but if he does continute to struggle over the rest of the month, they might be forced to go to Tyler Walker. (CBS Sports, Rotoworld)

Pena Sporting a 0.00 ERA
Tony Pena has four strikeouts, two holds and he has yet to allow an earned run in all four one-inning appearances this season. Pena will once again rank among the top relievers in holds, and he could see some saves chances if Brandon Lyon goes down with injury. Take a flier on him in deeper formats, particularly NL-only Rotisserie leagues. (CBS Sports)

Five Hits For Murton
Matt Murton has five basehits (all singles) in 15 at-bats in five games for Triple-A Iowa so far. Murton was sent down at the end of spring after the Cubs couldn’t find a trade suitor. He might still end up elsewhere, and the red-headed outfielder could still see some Fantasy value at some point. (CBS Sports)

Chase Headley Marking Time
Chase Headley is batting .200 with one double and one RBI in four games with Triple-A Portland so far this season. Without question, Headley did enough with his bat to win the starting job in left field out of spring training, so the Padres sent him down simply so he could refine his defense. He’s a former third baseman, but that spot is blocked by Kevin Kouzmanoff — and he’s not going anywhere. Don’t completely ignore him in Fantasy. Last year, Ryan J. Braun and Hunter Pence got sent down to the minors after great offensive springs, and we all know what happened to them. (CBS Sports)

Only Two Starts for Iannetta
The Rockies have started Chris Iannetta twice so far this season, with Yorvit Torrealba seeing most of the action. Iannetta has a .286 batting average with one RBI in two games, making him a decent NL-only catcher with good upside because of his youth (he turned 25 Tuesday) (CBS Sports)
