Overnight Dispatches

From Rotoworld:

Jeff Kent (wrist) is expected to be in the starting lineup on Monday. Kent missed Sunday’s game due to the sore wrist.

Mark Mulder was tagged for eight runs in 4 1/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Padres. Mulder remains good enough to beat NL teams most of the time, but if he ends up in the AL as a free agent next year, it could very well be a disaster. He’s currently 5-3 with a 4.52 ERA for the Cardinals. The three homers he surrendered on Sunday brought his total to 11 in 71 2/3 innings. He gave up a total of 19 in 205 innings last year. Mulder will probably bring down his ERA some, but he’s not a top pitcher right now.

Mike Lieberthal (knee) caught five innings for Double-A Reading on Saturday. Lieberthal went 0-for-2 in the game. He is expected to be activated off the disabled list in time for Monday’s game.
