Pitching in an extended spring training game, Kerry Wood (shoulder) gave up one hit and struck out eight in five scoreless innings Tuesday.  He had zero walks. If Wood has no problems with his shoulder following the outing, he will make a rehab appearance on Sunday for Single-A Peoria. He threw in the 94-96 mph range and continues to be on track for a May 17 return against Washington.

Moises Alou unexpectedly missed his second straight game on Tuesday because of his left hip injury. He was originally expected to miss only one game

Dave Roberts expects to start Wednesday’s game even though he has been hit by a pitch in the same knee in back-to-back games. Roberts had his fourth triple of the season in Tuesday’s game. He doesn’t want to sit, but the trainers might have him to ensure the knee can heal.

Ryan Zimmerman, who missed Monday’s game to attend a funeral, went 0-for-4 against the Mets on Tuesday night.
